Japanese Vocabulary Drill: Expressing Feelings & Resolving Conflicts

1. Key Vocabulary

1. 妥協点（だきょうてん） — dakyooten
   • Meaning: Compromise point; middle ground.
   • Example: お互いの主張を聞いて、適切な妥協点を見つけましょう。
     (Otagai no shutshou o kiite, tekisetsu na dakyooten o mitsukemashou. / Let's listen to each other's points and find an appropriate middle ground.)
2. 優先順位（ゆうせんじゅんい） — yuusen jun'i

4. すれ違い（すれちがい） — surechigai
   • Meaning: Misalignment; passing each other by; disagreement in expectations.
   • Example: 方向性についてのすれ違いを解消したいです。
     (Houkousei ni tsuite no surechigai o kaishou shitai desu. / I want to resolve our misalignment regarding the project direction.)
5. 焦り（あせり） — aseri
   • Meaning: Impatience; anxiety; feeling rushed/pressed for time.
   • Example: 締め切りが迫っていて、焦りを感じています。
     (Shimekiri ga sematte ite, aseri o kanjite imasu. / With the deadline approaching, I'm feeling anxious and rushed.)
6. 歩み寄る（あゆみよる） — ayumiyoru
   • Meaning: To meet halfway; to compromise; to step closer to an agreement.
   • Example: 良い作品を作るために、少しずつ歩み寄りましょう。
     (Yoi sakuhin o tsukuru tame ni, sukoshizutsu ayumiyorimashou. / To create a good product, let's meet each other halfway step by step.)
